If I had to save one book for future generations I would save the Bible as Eli did in The Book of Eli. The bible teaches faith and who would we all be without faith. The bible is important to me because it gives me something to believe in and lean on when times are hard as they were for Eli. The teachings in this book tell us why we were put on the earth and they way that we are supposed to act. I have never read the entire book as Eli has, but I have read bits and pieces. Although some parts of the book is hard to believe it gives us something to believe in and someone to follow. Without the Bible and the teachings written inside of it there would be no belief in an upper guidance as well as no religion. Without religion the crazy world we live in would be more messed up. The belief in a religion gives a person morals and beliefs to follow. If these beliefs were not instilled in us today people would be running around doing whatever they feel they want to do without thinking about consequences. Another reason I would choose the Bible is I can not think of any other books that are more important than this book. The dictionary ran across my mind when asked this question, but without the dictionary the language could still be passed down from generation to generation. I believe the Bible is the most important book ever created and I would save it if I was forced to save one book.

Halloween
As a child I grew up in a small town where nearly every kid in the town would walk around the whole town on October 31st and trick or treat. Every Halloween all the neighbors on our street would set up a fire at the end of the dead end in our road. We would all grill over the fire and make a huge pot of chili. Every year we would also have a pumpkin carving contest to see who could make the most creative design. We would all spend the entire day out there throwing football and just sitting around the fire. As I grew up I got away from dressing up from Halloween and the trick or treating. But in recent years it has been fun to go to a big party on the weekend of Halloween and dress up. This recent year I dressed up as Popeye the Sailor, everyone got a kick out of it. I believe Halloween is a good holiday and should be celebrated everywhere. I agree that adults grow out of the holiday and do not take place in the whole trick or treating custom. But I know of some adults that still go to Halloween parties or go walk around town on the weekend for the fun of it. Halloween is the one day of the year that you can get away with dressing up like anybody or anything that you would like and not get looked down upon or mocked. Halloween will never get old and should be celebrated by all.
Changing WSU
The first thing that I would change if I had the option of changing something about Wright State University would be the size of the lectures. In my first year I have found that many of my lectures are very large and I have a hard time staying on task when in a room with 200 other students. I believe if the classes were broken up into smaller classes that students would be able to stay more focused. Also the teachers would be able to know more about the students and have more time for explanation with smaller class sizes. Oftentimes students can miss class without a professor even knowing that anyone is missing due to the number of students packed into one lecture hall with one professor. The second thing that I would change about Wright State University would have to be the parking. The parking lots of Wright State are ridiculous and sometimes take several minutes to find a spot. I have morning classes and do not have much of an issue with this problem, but when I go home in between I have been late to class a couple of times from looking for a parking spot. I have also received a parking ticket for an unknown reason when I thought that I had parked legally. Wright State should create a parking garage or make more parking lots. Lot 20 is a big parking lot but it is so far away from campus that a bus is needed to shuttle students to campus, which is very inconvenient.

Revision
I view my process of revision as very effective. Without revising my papers I would still have the errors that I originally made in my rough drafts. Often times my original drafts have spelling, grammar, and comma mistakes. In my revision I read over my draft multiple times looking for any errors that I have made. I believe that no paper is perfect after the first draft; therefor without the revision process writing would not be as professional as it is today. I believe that revision is making a difference in my writings. Many times I revise my papers myself and then have a peer check over my paper. The revision process is clear to me and I am not having many difficulties revising. The one area in my papers that I believe I can improve on is my thesis statement. The thesis statement should be a strong statement stating what the entire paper is about. When revising I need to strengthen my thesis and make it powerful and enticing to the reader. All of my experiences with revision have been successful. I prefer my papers to be read by multiple peers to get multiple suggestions on how to make my paper more professional. I believe that the more peer editors who read my paper the better, the peers who read and polish up my paper help my in composing my final draft. Although revision is not always the most enjoyable process in creating a successful paper, but it is needed to cut out the errors made in the rough drafts.

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec
In Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec’s painting of “A women with a black feather boa” Lautrec is depicting how women were seen in the middle nineteen hundreds in Paris. The picture is dark and ominous, describing the features of women at the time. At the time women were seen as dark and mysterious characters. The painter is directing his work at the female gender. He is trying to show women how they are looked upon in society. The genre of this piece is called post impressionism; it is in this genre due to the time it was painted and that it was in France. Lautrec’s stance on his painting is that women should be treated equal in society. He painted the picture so women would see what they were portrayed as and give them a chance to stand up for their rights. In this instance the media of the piece is a painting. In the photo by Lautrec, the women seem to be transparent. This also is a testament of the hardships women were dealing with in the time. The women of this day and age were looked not important and looked past many times as shown in the painting. The painted woman is extremely ugly, ugly enough that the picture is almost gross at first glance. Women years ago were not thought of as beauty symbols as they are today. They often dressed in disturbing clothes such as the woman in the painting. Women were seen as object and of no importance to the community.
No T.V's
A world without television would be a huge change. I do not support the statement that our children would be more educated, healthier, and more independent human beings. I believe the exact opposite actually, I believe that without television children would not retain as much knowledge, and I am not sure how television and health are even related. Many television shows are very informative and teach young kids basic fundamental topics. For example, how many kids have not watched Barney? Nearly every child has watched an episode of Barney when growing up. This show and many others are academic shows and teach many positive principles. Kids that are visual learners may retain more knowledge from sitting down and watching a television channel rather than sitting in a class room. I agree that there are many shows on the TV that are inappropriate and even abusive, but if the child’s shows and amount of TV is monitored the television can be very informational. The only health problem that could develop from television is obesity. This is only possible if the child sits on the couch watching cartoons for numerous hours. I also agree that the amount of television watched in a day should not reach an excessive amount. Watching too much television is not good for a person. With that said i believe that when bored television is a good way to waste time and even learn something new. Many documentaries are very informative, giving info that may not be published elsewhere. Without television the world indeed would be much different but not necessarily for the better.

What Advertising Means To Me
Advertising is a way to entice a group or audience to buy a product. I believe that the advertising companies purposely use celebrities or beautiful women on purpose knowing that it will capture the eye of the audience making them want to purchase their product. A lot of the times you will see a very famous person on an ad such as an actor, sports star, or singer. This makes the product seem like something special if a famous person is advertising and using the product, when often times the celeb may not even use the product. I believe that advertisers have a sense of ignorance in the way they make the ads. It isn’t uncommon to see an ad that is way over the top and makes zero sense. For instance, a sexy woman modeling men’s clothing line. I do not fall for the advertisements in believing that if I buy the product I can be as cool and popular as the celebrity or get the sexy women pictured. When the audience is looking at ads they are truthfully just looking at the pictures. Once a picture on an ad interests a person they read more into the product and sometimes become interested in purchasing one. This is the reason why advertisers often put popular and rich people on the cover of their ads. Advertisements will continue to be printed with very important people labeled on the front of them as long as the celebrity on the ad is creating more revenue and the audience is falling for the false advertisement.
